Boating enthusiasts find plenty of room to roam at Isabella Lake, with its capacity of 560,000 acre-feet and 11,000 surface acres. They can also find conditions to match their sport - whether it's jet skiing, windsurfing, water skiing, fishing or sailing. French Gulch Marina is nestled in a cove along the lake's west shore, just above the Main Dam. Camping is available right across the street from the marina at Pioneer Point Campground. French Gulch Marina proudly rents personal watercraft, pontoon boats, fishing boats, paddle boats and kayaks. The marina also has more than 100 private slips complete with lights, electrical outlets and security gates.
The marina is open year-round and has a fully-stocked general store complete with snacks, beverages, ice, bait, tackle, gas and oil. There are boat launching ramps located at various points around, the lake, including the Main Dam (which is closest to the marina), South Fork Recreation Area, Paradise Cove, Tillie Creek Campground and Camp 9.
Boat permits are required at Isabella Lake. Yearly and 3 day permit fees are among the cheapest in southern California, and are available at French Gulch Marina.
